SouthSolo Expedition Postponed

It has been a chaotic couple of weeks here for everyone involved in the SouthSolo Expedition.  Due to circumstances outside our control (including a terrible exchange rate and a few other problems which in part can be attributed to the world financial situation) the decision has been made to postpone the expedition 12 months with the new departure date set for November 2009.

While Rob is obviously disappointed to not be hitting “the ice” this season there are many benefits to postponing the expedition and the SouthSolo team are all very excited to have another year to continue the media, fundraising and training campaign.

The team would like to thank everyone who has supported the SouthSolo expedition so far and we look forward to bringing you exciting news and developments in the coming year.

With just 8 weeks until Rob hits the ice the SouthSolo Expedition is still desperately short of funding.  While there is an exciting TV deal on the horizon for SouthSolo the problem now is timing.  Gear has all arrived and Rob is in the best form of his life for his South Pole Expedition.
